Tournament summary – In a 2 person Best Ball match you must be able to “Ham and Egg” it around the course pretty well or else your bacon will be overcooked. Poor Fred Watanabe had to carry a “crippled” Laville around the course all day long and you can see he did his “Best” as he got 3 KP’s good for a consolation prize of a sleeve of Pro VI’s. Mike Dennis did his part in getting two NET 1’s as he scored a natural 3 at the Par 3  #8 and #17, his partner John Sturges tried to pull off his Clark Louie impersonation by spraying it all over the course and end up finding the green. What was really impressive was his chip in at #16 for a bogey and followed it up with a chip in at #17 for a birdie. He said “let’s see Clark do that”.

Myron Lee and Ross Yamasaki posted a score of -15, but lost a tiebreaker to land in 3rd place. Ross wanted it to go on record that he wore his pink shirt and used a pink ball for Darryl’s benefit (who didn’t play). I guess that is the “lucky shirt” and you should wear it more often, now if you can only get some paisley print pants to match.

Lawrence Lee and Steven Chan also posted a score of -15, but had to get a net 2 on the last hole to get there and win the tie breaker to take home 2nd place.

The winning score of -19 posted by Jon Ollerenshaw with an 18 handicap and Thu Lan Fick with a 31 handicap blew away the field. Do you realize you if you averaged a “birdie” per hole you still couldn’t have beat them?? Either they played out of their minds or we need to readjust those handicaps =) Congratulations and I hope I get paired with one of you next year.

Danger Zone: At Hole #4 the marshal asked us to wave the group behind us onto the green. So standing near the back left bunker with Fred I felt safe until Bobby Lee hit his tee shot and Fred said it’s coming right at us!! I lost track of the ball and didn’t know what to do on one leg and just hopped around hoping not to get hit. Next time I’ll stand next to the flag.
