Tournament summary – It is July 4th and usually the club doesn’t have an outing fall on a Holiday so for various reasons we only had 20 players turn out for a “trophy tournament”. If this was a preview for the Club Championship it looks like most of us need to work on our games as only 4 players shot par or better. It was good to see Larry Schwab out again and on hole #13 the “ravine hole” Larry suggested he would be willing to take Thu Lan’s tee shot and add one stroke. Well wouldn’t you know it Larry bombs a terrific tee shot that almost reaches the ravine, when asked if he still wanted to keep his deal that he mentioned at the tee box he said yeah this shot has too much pressure…guess what he did put it in the hazard…next time use some POSITIVE thinking. Despite these brain farts Larry still managed to collect money from Pai in his side bets.

Dan Hutchins was the leader in the clubhouse with a net of 69 and felt pretty good since he knew Eastmoreland doesn’t usually yield low scores. Then in rolls Thu Lan Fick our newest member this year that has been playing a very consistent game thanks to the 200 balls she’s been pounding at the driving range. She cards a net 64 to blow away the field and gets to have her name etched on the Ralph Moe Memorial Trophy. Of course we expected Dan to say it happens to him every time he puts a good number up that someone comes in to take him down. Hey just play better and it’s not like you lost by only one stroke. A redemption round awaits at the Club Championship.
